Sydney colt Capitalist is the raging $1.70 favourite in Magic Millions 2yo betting with Bluebet reporting the colt was rock solid in betting after he drew barrier two earlier in the week.
Bluebet CEO Michael Sullivan said the Peter and Paul Snowden trained Capitalist deserved to be a clear favourite in betting but he was happy to take the undefeated colt on.
”The Magic Millions has thrown up a few results for bookmakers in recent years and I am happy to take Capitalist on here.” Sullivan said.
“I think he is rock bottom odds and am happy to continue to lay him at the short odds.
He has looked very impressive in his two wins to date but this is a completely different ball game with the pressure heaped on in a big field around the tight Gold Coast track.”
Kelso Wood has the best of the local hopes with Nikitas at $8.50, while Tony Gollans, Zelady Night Out is $10 alongside the second of the Snowden colts, Niccolance.
The Magic Millions 3YO Guineas is a much wider betting affair with the Darren Weir trained Mahuta and Bjorn Bakers, Egyptian Symbol, sharing favouritsm at $4.60.
Sullivan said Weirs chances of extending his golden run after winning the Melbourne Cup with Prince of Penzance had taken a hammering after his colt drew barrier 20.
“Mahuta will start from barrier 15 and he will need a lot of luck around the Gold Coast from out there.” Sullivan said.
Team Snowden could also end up challenging for favouritism in the Magic Millions Guineas with Sullivan reporting Flippant well supported in early betting at $5.50.
In other races at the Gold Coast on Saturday, Buffering is a raging $1.24 favourite in the QTIS Plate while Sullivan said there was good backing for both Tinto and Centre Pivot in the Magic millions Trophy betting.
