Punters will be looking to get the day off to a winning start and I think Lighthouse should provide a nice way to do so. The Maher/Eustace runner was having her first ever Australian run at Kyneton last start and couldn’t have been anymore impressive, winning by a whopping 4L on the rain-affected track. She’s displayed talent overseas, so that was certainly no fluke. If she can simply match that performance, she’ll be incredibly tough to beat here.
Tipped Shibli last week, but was unfortunately scratched – which may have been a blessing in disguise, as Mightybeel scored a dominant victory. The Waller trained Shibli looks well placed here and will look to build on his current form, in which he has won three out of his last four runs, with his only miss at Randwick, where he was blocked for a run and also pulled up with poor post-race recovery. Keen to stick with him again.
The Waller trained Selburose resumed last start at Rosehill in impressive fashion, leading handily for most of the race, only to be run down on the line by Katalin. She held the rest easily (over 2L) and will certainly be much fitter coming into this. James McDonald on board is a big tick and she shouldn’t have too much pressure up front again. Ticks a lot of boxes and looks a great chance.
Score hasn’t been at her best in the past two preparations; she had just one start last prep and failed, finishing tenth out of eleven runners. In the prep prior, she was solid & even scored a win, but was not at the level she was before that. At her best, she can certainly match it with this field and has shown she can race well first up in the past. She is a risk, but she’s worth a bet at the long odds.

BLUEY’S BEST BETS – 4/09/2020 BLUEY’S BEST MOONEE VALLEY RACE 3 – 13:40 AEST GENERATION ($3.30) Looks to be a great battle between the top two here, but I’m giving the edge to Generation, who resumed last start at Caulfield. He led the field but was no match for Ingratiating during the straight. He should […]
BLUEY’S BEST BETS – 25/06/2022 BLUEY’S BEST RANDWICK RACE 4 – 12:45 AEST 6. PO KARE KARE ($3.10) Third-up today. Resuming came home strongly from last on the turn; 3rd of 11 (slipped at start; became unbalanced; lost ground) at Randwick Kensington 3yo (Bm64) on May 18 over 1100m, slow going 2 […]
BLUEY’S BEST BETS – 21/08/2020 BLUEY’S BEST RANDWICK RACE 2 – 11:55 AEST SHUFFLE UP ($3.80) Looks to be a great battle between the top two here, but I’m siding with Shuffle Up, who looks to have the upper hand over Red Santa. Shuffle Up resumed from a very long 784-day spell this prep & […]
